Shoretel Trunk Test Tool

Posted on -

Trouble Shooting ShoreTel SGT1 Caller ID. Minimally, you can use the Trunk Test tool to witness the caller ID of an inbound call. ShoreTel has a “trunk test tool” that has some usability. You can actually bring up the test tool, and right click a particular telephone line and place a call. If you are really in the fast reader group, you can set the test tool options to point the call at your own remote handset. I have built a brand new Shoretel 13.3 system (Build 18.62.200) and added 4 Shoretel T1 switches, and some voice switches, & setup a trunk between all four.

But no one really has that except Avaya, and even thiers is not easy to use really. I hope that helps somewhat. EV RE: Troubleshooting Tools (Programmer) 27 Mar 07 23:36.

To enable call by call, outbound CID change, we create Bridged Line Appearances or BLA’s. These BLA’s can be configured with a different called ID and the client can select the appropriate line (read Brand) to generate the correct CID on a particular outbound call. As an aside, we note that the carriers are getting more particular about D channel spoofing of CID on PRI calls. On SIP trunks it is all but impossible.

Usually when you want DID's which go over a PRI in which case they needed an 220T1 or 220T1a, which as you stated they didn't buy. They can still add a PRI later by adding a T1k for the lowest cost method. It is a PRI only and doesn't not handle phones where as the 220T1 does both.

Ddx3216 software download. Hey Guys/Gals, New shoretel engineer here and will be setting up my very first shoretel deployment here soon. I know most of how to set it up, but I was thrown a curve ball as my first install. The deal is, this new customer is not getting a PRI or SIP trunk, they have 8 analog lines that come into the building that we need to use for their shoretel deployment. Problem is, i have no clue how to go about accomplishing this. I assuming you just punch it down to the Amphenol cable and create an Analog Loop Start trunk group, then add individual trunks to it. Here is where im confused, on the new individual trunk page i have the following options: Number: Switch Port: Jack#: I know the Jack# is optional and the switch port is the one on the switch that i set up for the trunk (it a SG90V switch), what I don't know is what i put in as the Number.

Trunk Test Krug

Before you do this you need to create an Analog trunk group if you don't already have one and then select that trunk group. Hey guys, I got the Analog lines set up and everything is working perfect. I decided to just not do DIDs and they are ok with that since hopefully in the future we are going to move them to a SIP trunk. One other question I have is this: We manage shoretel for our MSP customers, I AD integrated shoretel and used our companies domain admin account for the system administrator. My question is this, Is it possible to have a system administrator account, using AD, that does not use an extension license. For example, mtssupport is the username in AD, the only way I can figure out how to add this user into ST as an admin is to create an extension for this user. This user will never be assigned to a phone or user though it is only an admin account.

Is this where i would put in the analog phone numbers? Thanks, Glynn.

If you are really in the fast reader group, you can set the test tool options to point the call at your own remote handset. In this way, you are sitting in NY, dialing out on a SF analog telephone line. ShoreTel has another debug tool that is very useful for “hearing” what is happening on a remote analog telephone line at a site that you just cant get a handle on. You can literally telnet into the switch and setup up a recording session and capture the analog line sounds to a file back at your location.

In Director under platform hardware, Voice Switches / Service Appliances., Primary you would select the 90v. In the port section of the 90v, you will select the port and that port type. Port types are: Available (Not in use) Conference (Used for make me conferences, which are conferences of more than 3 people. This is a whole other complicated conversation) 5 IP Phones (By default, the 90v is set to handle only 30 IP phones.
