Both the IDC-A04 and A09 changers look identical. I would say that you got the wrong changer, as the IDC-A09 changers in pre/early 2004 should just plug in and work. Remember: Pre 2004 cars need IDC-A09 (plug and play) and Post 2004 cars need IDC-A04 changer (get pug dealer to reprogram cars computer).its a costly mistake if you bought the wrong one! On a number of occasions when playing a CD then changing to the next CD, the player wouldnt respond and would stop working. I couldnt even eject the disks. However, if I left the car overnight and tried the CD player the next day it would work fine again. I found that the only way to get around this problem would be to only leave 1 CD in the player then when I wanted to listed to another CD, I would eject the CD and insert the CD I wanted to listen to. I have been doing this for a few months until now.
